A no fault system for auto insurance is followed in the state of New York which means an insurance company will pay your medical expenses regardless of who is at fault in an accident.  The minimum requirements for New York auto insurance is $25,000 per person, up to $50,000 per accident for bodily injury liability as well as the same amounts for uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage.  The minimum personal injury protection limit is $50,000 and the property damage liability must be at least $10,000.
